Lines of communication
During our coaching session, we use various lines of communication.
Clear communication can help people in a relationship crisis clearly identify their needs and goals. By communicating openly and honestly, partners can work together to find mutually acceptable solutions and minimise the risk of conflict. Especially because important decisions need to be made about property, finances and children.
Good communication can help move the process forward and ensure that both parties feel heard and understood.
At all stages of a relationship crisis, communication can help reduce stress, limit conflict and foster a sense of cooperation. It can also help people express their needs and concerns, which is especially important during a time of major change.
Communication remains essential even after a divorce, for example when it comes to co-parenting. Effective communication can help parents coordinate their schedules, make decisions about the care of their children and resolve disputes in a peaceful and respectful manner.
Effective communication does not always come naturally. Couples may have negative feelings towards one another or find it difficult to communicate constructively. In such cases, it may be helpful to seek the assistance of a mediator or coach. At Hoek & Steen, we offer guidance on communicating effectively and working towards an outcome that benefits both parties.
We do this, among other things, by providing insight into the different communication styles. Once it is clear which style is the preferred one, it also becomes clear what may trigger irritation and annoyance in the other person. This is discussed extensively during the communication coaching session, and we provide both parties with valuable insights and practical tools.
